Linux Solution for Digital Signage and Corporate Display Networks

Infomir has introduced a new Linux-based solution for building and scaling Digital Signage networks. It is designed for DOOH, airports and transport hubs, retail, shopping centers, and corporate display networks where infrastructure control, data privacy, and predictable device operation are essential.
The solution enables organizations to deploy a managed media environment without dependence on third-party cloud services, Google telemetry, or uncontrolled system updates. Content, devices, and network processes remain under the customer’s control.
Controlled Linux-Based Infrastructure
Infomir Linux-based media devices can operate within internal and isolated corporate networks, including environments without a permanent internet connection. This architecture is suitable for projects where external cloud dependencies are undesirable or restricted by security requirements and internal company policies.
The open Linux environment makes it possible to adapt interfaces, APIs, integrations, and workflows to specific infrastructure requirements. This allows the devices to be used not only as media players, but also as managed components of a corporate content delivery and display system.
Centralized Management and Controlled Updates
The solution is designed to scale to large device fleets. Administrators can centrally manage thousands of media players, while firmware and software updates can be distributed from the organization’s own infrastructure. This approach helps control when a new version is installed and reduces the risk of unplanned changes to the operating environment.
For large display networks, this is especially important: an unexpected update or a change to an external platform can affect integrations, content playback, and the stability of a large number of endpoints at once.
For DOOH, Retail, Transport, and Corporate Environments
The Infomir solution can be used in digital out-of-home advertising networks, airport and transport hub information systems, retail stores and shopping centers, as well as internal advertising and information networks at commercial facilities. For such projects, the Linux architecture helps centralize content delivery while maintaining control over devices and data flows.
An Alternative to Consumer Android Devices
Unlike devices designed for consumer entertainment ecosystems, the Infomir solution supports full operation in isolated networks, eliminates mandatory dependence on third-party cloud services, gives customers control over firmware, and provides broader opportunities for enterprise customization.
| The new solution expands Infomir’s portfolio for professional media projects and is aimed at companies that need secure and predictable display infrastructure with centralized management, autonomous operation, and full control over the software environment. |
